I appreciate everyone who has been checking in on Mondays to catch the transition blogs from Transition 2 Life and Daily Living Skills. Beginning in September, we will be adding blogs on Financial Fridays to add to the transition lessons our students need to become successful young adults.

Financial Fridays will follow the same format as our Monday offerings by discussing a topic of relevance to young people with disabilities moving out into the adult world. It will also have lesson plans and/or ideas on teaching specific financial topics. These lessons are NOT part of the new Financial Literacy textbook offering a one-semester program on money and money management—instead they are a supplement to that program and cover the extra “hacks” that make our student’s lives easier and more informed.

I’m excited to bring these blogs to you and would love to hear what you are doing in your classroom to enhance financial literacy. Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas. I’m hoping to hear from you soon.
